Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Pocketed ("Pocketed", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by Pocketed Financial LLC, collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Pocketed mobile application and related services (the "Service"). Pocketed is a personal-finance tool that scans receipts, connects to your financial accounts, and helps you understand what your purchases actually cost.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the Service:

  • Account information. When you sign in with Apple, Google, or another supported identity provider, we receive a unique identifier and, where you permit it, your name and email address. Pocketed does not store passwords — authentication is handled entirely by your chosen identity provider.
  • Receipt data. Images you scan and the line items, merchants, amounts, and dates extracted from them.
  • Financial account data. When you connect a bank account, transaction and balance information obtained through Plaid (see Section 2).
  • Email receipt data. If you connect Gmail, we read only messages that match receipt/order-confirmation patterns, via a read-only connection, to import the purchases they contain.
  • Subscription & device data. Purchase and entitlement status (via RevenueCat and the App Store) and basic technical/diagnostic data needed to operate and secure the app.

2. Financial data & Plaid

Pocketed uses Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to securely connect to your financial institutions. When you link an account, you grant Pocketed and Plaid authorization to access financial data from that account on your behalf, consistent with Section 1033 of the Dodd-Frank Act. Plaid collects and processes your information in accordance with its own privacy policy.

By using Pocketed's bank-connection feature you agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.

You can review and manage the data Plaid holds, and revoke connections, through the Plaid Portal (my.plaid.com) and Plaid's Data Protection Request form.

We request only the financial data necessary to provide Pocketed's features (transactions and balances). We do not sell your financial data, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide core features: scanning receipts, importing and categorizing transactions, and tracking item-level prices over time.
  • To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
  • To manage subscriptions and process in-app purchases.
  • To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
  • To comply with legal obligations and to detect, prevent, and respond to fraud or abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

4. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run the Service:

  • With the service providers listed in Section 5, acting on our behalf under contract.
  • To comply with law, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of Pocketed, our users, or the public.
  • In connection with a business transfer (e.g., merger or acquisition), subject to this Policy.

5. Service providers

Pocketed relies on the following processors, each of which handles data only as needed to deliver their part of the Service:

  • Plaid — secure financial-account connectivity.
  • Supabase — application database, authentication, and backend hosting.
  • Nylas — read-only email connectivity for receipt import (only if you connect Gmail).
  • Anthropic — AI processing to extract structured data from receipt images and emails.
  • RevenueCat — subscription and entitlement management.
  • Apple and Google — sign-in (identity) and app distribution.

6. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service:

  • Active accounts. Your receipts, transactions, and connections are retained while your account remains open.
  • Deletion requests. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete All My Data in the app. We complete deletion within 30 days of the request, and Pocketed revokes the associated Plaid connection as part of that process.
  • Operational logs. Limited technical/security logs are retained for up to 90 days.
  • Legal minimums. We retain only the minimum information required to meet legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations.

7. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. Pocketed does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any right, use the in-app deletion control or contact us at the address below.

Because Pocketed handles financial information, we treat your nonpublic personal information consistent with the principles of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA): we limit collection to what is needed, restrict access, and do not disclose it except as described here. For California residents, the CCPA/CPRA provides rights to know, delete, correct, and limit; we honor these requests and will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

Revoking access. You can disconnect a bank at any time in the app, delete your account entirely, or revoke Plaid's access directly via the Plaid Portal.

8. Security

We protect your information with industry-standard safeguards, including encryption of data in transit (TLS) and encryption of sensitive secrets — such as financial-account access tokens — at rest. Access to production systems is restricted, authenticated with multi-factor authentication, and follows least-privilege principles. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.

9. Children's privacy

Pocketed is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Not financial advice

Pocketed provides informational tools to help you understand your spending. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and nothing in the Service should be relied on as such.

11. Changes to this Policy & contact

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through in-app notice. Questions or requests? Contact us at jeymian.m.bullard@gmail.com.
